First Day Of School!

I woke both kids up today for their "First Day Of School". They have very different morning personalities. Sydney was bouncing around the house yelling "First Day of School!..First Day of School!" and focused all her energies on getting ready to go. Camden flopped from the bed to the floor where he did not want to open his eyes. Dad had to help him every step of the way to get dressed and ready to go.
Once Camden was dressed and finally awake, they were both very happy, cute and excited. Our third annual photo op with Connor our neighbor friend. He attends the same school, but going into 9th grade. My kids LOVE Connor.

Once we were close to the school, they were in a hurry to get on campus to see their classmates.

Doesn't Sydney look like the supportive big sister. She offered to walk him to his classroom, but Camden wanted to show he could handle walking in with his new classmates by himself.

I love his goofy little smile. He was so happy which was a relief.

Sydney is looking so grown up this year and she got to join old friends now that she moved up to the 2-3 classroom.
The school is being a little more strict with on-campus security which is a good thing. It is hard to see the sign yelling at me when the kids walk to the other side.

Reunited with Emma-Boo after the summer break.

It will be interesting to see how Camden does with Hannah in his class. They seem like natural soul-mates.
Sydney gets to be in Danny's class for the first time.

They survived the first day and still have big smiles. They both did very well on what can be a long day. I was on campus in the afternoon when Camden ran up to me and said, "Mom, school is actually pretty exciting!" and ran off. I'm so happy for him. This morning on our way to school he said he was a little nervous and that his tummy was hurting. I wasn't too sure how he was going to do when we left him at the gate, but he did awesome! Whew!

Time passes so quickly. I'm so glad you have been able to stay home with them and give them a great start in life. You are a wonderful mom and I'm so proud of you.

Is Sydney wearing earrings? She does look grown up. Good, but not surprising, to hear the first day went well for Sydney and Camden. Once again it looks like their mother took some great photos which we greatly appreciate.
