I love love love love this new little tradition Sydney and I have done the past two years. The Teddy Bear Tea in November. Just for me and my girl. Sydney and I glam up a bit and head over to the Portuguese Hall for light refreshment with tea and hot chocolate in a Christmas wonderland. This event is housed in the same hall as the festival of trees so the room is just beautiful.

Instead of bringing a teddy bear, Sydney brought her fanciest friend, Fancy Nancy. Thanks to Grandma Kay, Fancy Nancy had the perfect outfit for the event. For about a week before the event, Sydney tried on several dresses on Nancy to make sure she was the perfect amount of Fancy and I think she looked great.

Before we sat down for our tea, we walked around to admire all the lights and ornaments and ran into Sydney's dance instructor, Ms. Deborah and friends from the Nutcracker.

I really liked how they decorated the tables this year. Red and green everything with the fanciest plates and cups. Each setting had a special candy treat along with a pencil and note card to be filled out for Santa Claus.

Probably within about two minutes of sitting down, the servers start serving your table and I love watching Sydney's excitement looking though every tray choosing the very best refreshment for herself. She always asks sheepishly, "Can I take two?" And they always reply, "Of course." They come through with triangle cut sandwiches, fruit, cookies and cheese cake trays. And more than once....many, many, many times.

This year we sat with Emma, Ms. Tina, Grandma Sue, Allison, pulling a blank on Emma's auntie's name and Brin.

I can't believe how grown up Sydney looks in these pictures. What a great experience for the two of you to share.
This is such a wonderful tradition. I always planned to take Bella when we lived in Tracy. Sydney looks beautiful in all her pictures.
