Saturday was a big day for our little family! I told Anson, "Let's take off the training wheels on both bikes and see what happens." Camden was the first to try and did good for the first 20 seconds and then got freaked out and didn't want to try anymore. Sydney was very excited to try. She jumped right on and after about 5 minutes of help was off on her own.
We told Camden he didn't have to try if he didn't want to, but after he saw Sydney riding a bike he pouted over to me and said, "I can ride too!" So on he went. That's all it took. Peer pressure from his sister and encouragement from his little friend Anna.
I was really surprised after 10 minutes of running behind them to make sure they wouldn't fall, Anson and I just stopped and watched. They were riding their bikes on their own. Our neighbor was supportive of our kids learning how to ride the bikes, but quickly moved his pretty corvette off the rode into his garage. I'm pretty sure he was worried that the kids might run into it and so was I. Each time we came close to the car, I would yell, "Watch out for Daryl's car please!" Note: Sydney wanted to ride Camden's because it was bigger and Camden wanted to ride Sydney's since it was smaller.
After an exciting afternoon of riding bikes, they enjoyed a popsicles with conversation and cute instruction from Anna on how to ride a bike.**On the ride home from church today, both kids were talking about eating lunch, changing their clothes for a bike ride. They did just that and did awesome. Another milestone for our family.

Way to go Sydney and Camden! You two are AWESOME
Riding a bike without training wheels is such a milestone! That is so cool that they are both doing it; you must be very proud parents!
Love it...I need to do that to Rachel and Jace, and just let them go!
