For the past 4-5 months Sydney walks around the house saying "Ta Ta Ta deeeee Ta Ta Ta deeee taaaaa Ta." I asked her what she was doing she told me, "I'm practicing keeping time in music. It's how you read notes to play on the piano."
One of her electives at school was music several months back and she learned how to play a few songs and keep time playing on a xylophone.
We took this opportunity to challenge her enthusiasm and interest playing the xylophone and signed Sydney up for piano. She was soooo very excited!
Her lessons are once a week for thirty minutes and she absolutely loves going and practicing daily. It has been really fun to watch her be so excited over playing the piano. I hope she continues having the same enthusiasm and has fun learning. It seems like she is growing up faster each day. It has been fun to watch her love and interest with the arts i.e., dance and music. We love you Sydney!

I'm glad she is so excited about piano...my boys...not so much, unless they can play a Harry Potter, or Disney song. Rachel says that she wants to start, but I'm still going to make her wait another year....I can only handle listening to Jolly Old St Nick, like 20 times a day, and not 30!
Thanks for the update about Sydney and her musical talents. Maybe one day you can record an mp3 concert for her world wide audience. That would be a lot of work so maybe it would be easier for the audience to visit Sydney at her home and listen to a dress rehearsal.
It is really great news that she is taking and enjoying piano lessons. Thanks to you Lora for finding her a teacher and helping her get started. I know your grandmother and grandfather are enjoying listening to her play.
Wow Sydney! I hope you having fun with your piano lessons.
