What goes on in that little head of his?

We just got back from a one week vacation to Utah visiting my parents before they head back to Cebu, Philippines. We did several things during this visit that I will post later, but one thing that was a struggle for Camden was going to bed at grandma's house. The first night he did OK since we traveled all day and the excitement of seeing everyone wore him out enough he was out cold when he hit the pillow. The following nights were not as simple. As usual, we put Camden in the room he always sleeps in but his little mind decided to play tricks with him. He started crying uncontrollably. Crying with panic. Once I could get him to calm down enough to understand him he told me, "There are monsters are in the walls hiding and they have scissors. They are going to cut through the walls and cut my hair off when I sleep." He was terrified! Tears...big tears running down his face. After we got the "Monster Spray," aka spray bottle and sprayed for monsters in the room and told him that we put the melted monster in a box and mailed them away he was a little better and was able to fall asleep. He has always had a very creative mind when it gets dark. Even tonight when we tried to put him to bed, it was a thirty five minute process. He said he needed his "Big Light" on tonight because, "The bears are coming tonight to my room." Daddy was nice enough to talk to him for awhile and then walk him to each door in the house and garage and show him that they were locked and no one, even bears can not get into our house and especially in his room. We wanted Camden to test the doors himself, but he was too scared. But again, we convinced him that he was safe and he is now asleep.

Maybe we have another Steven Spielberg in the making. Although my time in American Fork was limited when you were here, it was fun to see all of you. Love you.
