Still counting down...

Do you remember this post? We are on the count down and the chain is getting shorter. 28 days 'til she starts kindergarten. What are we going to do without our Sydney all day? What is Camden going to do without his Sydney? I know that we will be fine, but there will be some adjusting to do. The other day while we were having breakfast, her eyes were full of tears. I asked her what was wrong and she told me, "I'm really nervous about my new school and kindergarten." "What if I don't know anyone and the teachers don't know how to help me breathe?" Ahhhh....it broke my heart! I went ahead and told her that she was going to meet a lot of new kids that could be her new friends and reminded her that one of her good friends from preschool are in her class. I also told her that we would make sure to talk to her teachers about her asthma and teach them how to help her. It made my tummy tickle for her. She has brought it up several times over the past few weeks and I have to keep reassuring her that she is going to love her new school. The question is am I really ready for this?

She will be ready. You won't be ready and will need to shed a few tears every day for two or three months.

Wish my mother was here to comfort both of you. She helped new kindergarten students and their parents with this transition for 35 years.

do they have a 'back to school night'? maybe you could have her meet the school nurse or something to help calm her breathing fears.

Sweet! I hope you are ready too but it is a change for everyone...probably mostly for the mom though. I once heard that "Motherhood is the art of letting go". Cute pictures. You are a great mom. That is evident in all you do with your kids!

P.S. It was so fun to see you at the party! I wish we were closer.
