The day didn't start off too good. Sydney still felt pretty yucky and decided not to talk for most of the day. She would nod to communicate. It made the boring hospital day a little bit more boring.
She seemed to get a little sparkle in her eye around 7:00 p.m. tonight and started to talk again. She asked me if she could call her dad on the phone to see when he was going to come and to put in a mint chocolate chip ice cream and red licorice request.
This how I left my sweet Sydney tonight. With the biggest scoop of ice cream and all you can eat licorice. There was no limit on the sugar for her tonight. She could eat as much as she wanted as long as I got to see that cute smile that I have missed for the last several days. (side note: i also wasn't the one staying behind tonight with a little girl full of sugar and steroids, so let her have as much as she wants. i hope she falls asleep for her dad!)

I am so sorry that you have had to hang out in the hospital for the last few days instead of with your school friends, Sydney. I am glad though that you are starting to improve. Hope you are 100% very soon!! Love you

How awesome you can get mint ice-cream and red licorice at the hospital; that makes it a little easier to cope!
