She is feeling better.....and back home!

I have decided if you give the girl as much sugar as she wants i.e., ice cream, licorice and a doughnut, she will get better sooner and leave the hospital. Once she turned the corner Thursday night and gave her some yummy treats, we got to see this cute (once missing) smile.

Big thank you to her classmates from school making her this very cute get well book. Again, huge smile! She loved turning each page reading a looking at what her friends did for her.

Before we could leave, Sydney had to prove that she was breathing better and could do it on her own by blowing into her peak flow meter. After several tries and encouragement, she hit the magic number and said she is looking and sounding much better.

"Mom...NO MORE PICTURES!" I know it is the medicine talking....:)

One last treatment before she leaves. After the treatment they took a good listen to her lungs and everything sounded much, much better. The doctor said she still has that one trouble spot on the lower left lung that isn't allowing air to pass through, but said with no activity at home and treatments every 4 hours she should be fine.

Look at that real smile! Once they said she was good to go, I could not get our things together quick enough. She wanted out of there!

Her first request when she got home was a hot shower. She told me it was, "very relaxing and it made her feel better." She also wanted to paint with her paint set. She had talked about it all week at the hospital, but I didn't bring it up knowing her hands were too shaky to paint.

She did get extremely frustrated with her hands since she they are still very shaky, but had to try. She kept yelling at them to "hold still" or "stop moving hands". We have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning to see how she is doing and hopefully get the green light for her to go back to school.
What a week! Welcome home Sydney! I'm glad you are feeling better. Love you!!!

We're glad to see that she is doing better! We're thinking of you, and hope you're all surviving.

That looks like a really fun paint set. Hope Sydney's hand start cooperating soon. :)
