We Sure Do Love Our Grandmas - Part 1

I know that I am in the middle of posting about Christmas and doing so in February two months later. But I need to back track to a post in October I never finished to tie in one of the upcoming Christmas posts. Sydney received her Hello Kitty sewing machine for Christmas 2009. We have pulled it out here and there to fix or make some small projects, but when grandma came out for a visit in October, that machine stayed pretty the whole time busy making Halloween costumes and a couple of outfits for Sydney's favorite new doll. Her name is Fancy Nancy and was a gift from her aunt Sarah. Fancy Nancy is all about being "Fancy!" Saying fancy words and dressing very fancy. So while grandma was her visit, we all went shopping to pick out fun fabric, embellishments and accessories for Fancy Nancy's wardrobe!

They worked together for a few days making one of Fancy Nancy's new outfits. Grandmas was extremely patient with Sydney and let her be quite involved.

At the end of grandma's two week visit, they had only completed two outfits. Don't forget that grandma made a ghost costume and embellished a cupcake costume during that time. I know that Sydney was hoping for a whole closet full of clothes, but there never seems to be enough time when grandma comes for a visit. So when grandma's time was up and needed to head back to Malaysia she took all of the fabrics with her to complete Fancy Nancy's wardrobe....
