A couple of weeks ago in church, the Primary chorister called on Sydney while holding up the scriptures and asked her, "What are these?" Sydney said, "It's an idol!" I am the Primary secretary so I was in the room at the time. The chorister looked at me and asked me if we call these idols? I didn't recognize the word or understand what Sydney was trying to say. After Sydney said again, "That is an idol," one of the teachers figured that she was trying to say bible. Of course it made everyone smile and I will always think of an "idol" when I see a bible.
One more quick story....Last week, Sydney was asked to give the scripture in Primary. The theme for the month is "I will follow the prophet." Anson found the scripture "I a will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded..." in 1st Nephi chapter 3 verse 7. He practiced the verse with her, but she wasn't too interested and said that she could do it. When it came time, she read, "I will go and do the things that I will do." Instead of "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded." It was funny and the adults in the room laughed. Sydney does do what she wants or tries really hard to do so.
