Finishing Up Camden's Birthday Fun!

Part of the fun having a birthday is sharing your day at school. Since Camden attends Montessori, we have found they do a few things different. First, you can not bring sugar type items to school even for birthdays. No cookies, nothing with chocolate, etc. They do allow white cupcakes without frosting. So that is what we brought.

They also don't sing happy birthday. It was a little different, but Camden had fun. When it is the child's birthday, they get to hold a globe in their hands while.....

They skip around the sun represented by a candle and a sun plate while the kids sing the following.

The Earth goes around the sun the sun. The earth goes around the sun the sun. It takes 12 months 52 weeks 365 days." "Camden is now 1 year old!" The teacher asked, "Camden, do you remember anything when you were 1 years old?" He answered, "No!"

They sing again as Camden skips around the sun singing, "The earth goes around the sun the sun. The earth goes around the sun the sun. It takes 12 months, 52 weeks and 365 days." "Camden is now 2 years old!" Again the teacher asked, "Camden, do you remember anything when you were 2 years old?" He answered, "Yes, I didn't use a bottle."

They do this over and over until they get to 5!

Once the last song is sung and the questions have been asked, the birthday boy gets to blow out the candle representing the sun. It is for sure a fancy and different way singing Happy Birthday.
