Well it seems that I spoke too soon from my last post. Our daily struggle turned into a bigger struggle than I expected.

After being seen by the doctor again today, it was decided that Sydney needed to be admitted to the
hospital again. She was just there 2 months ago! Her oxygen level was only at 87% and would only go up a few points after a
nebulizer treatment so that earned her a ride to the hospital.

The moment I told her, she started to cry. She didn't want to go back. She didn't want to miss school. She was going to miss being with her friends. I bribed her with every type of treat you could imagine to help her calm down with no luck until I mentioned she gets to play video games when she is there. The crying stopped right at the moment and she started talking about the games she wanted to play.

Our ride to the
hospital was about 28
minutes. She talked the whole time while I was up front. Once we unloaded, the paramedic said, "She likes to talk and is smart." I guess Sydney used the paramedic's clipboard and did math problems the ride up. She loves her math. I think she should get extra credit at school for doing those math problems while being transported.

Look at that smile! The nurses remembered us
immediately and order Sydney's favorite meal. Chicken fingers, french fries,
barbecue sauce and A LOT of ketchup.

Here is a picture of Sydney not looking too well. After a x-ray, we were told she has 3 "
small" collapsed areas in her lungs which is making it difficult for her to breath well and keep her oxygen levels up. There is a name for it, but I left the paper at the
hospital. She is going to be fine....she just needs to keep taking
steroids, rescue medicine and be on the oxygen to help her get better.

Whenever you have a grumpy and sick little girl, I recommend
ice cream. It brought that smile right back. I'm sure that me giving her ice cream today will help her get better faster and we will be home in no time.

Thank goodness for Sydney's roommates for lending us their markers and paper.

This girl is being well taken care of. She has her oxygen, rescue medicine running, a reclining bed and a laptop to play her
Webkinz. I don't think it can get much better than this considering how she is feeling and where she is.
