Last Day of School!

Time to do some catching up again. June had to have been one of the craziest months I have had in a long time. It definitely took 2 weeks to recover.

Sydney got out of school on June 25th. It was a very exciting day for everyone. I helped organize the last day of school party for the kids and teachers. I was truly amazed how generous all the parents were and had fun putting together gifts for all four teachers.

Each teacher received a gift just for them. A gift card for a mani/pedi. They next received gift cards to Miss Milles School Supplies to help decorate their classroom for the next year. Tina did an amazing job making photo books for each teacher that included individuals pictures of each child and a statement of what they liked about the year. I put together a DVD slide show with pictures of the kids and teachers for each teacher. And as a surprise to the teacher 60 copies that they got to give back to the kids as their gifts. Our last gift was hard cold cash. Cash to help with school supplies, class pet care, parties or coffee for those rainy days. Thanks to all the parents who contributed to the gift. I was quite humbled and amazed that we pulled together $520 for our teachers.

After the teachers received their gifts, I turned the time over to Tina who put together several learning center activities for the kids. We helped the kids review or do activities about subjects they learned over the year. Bug hats, bug bingo, coloring packet for the 4th of July and more. It was a great way for the kids to visit and have fun in their last hours before summer break started.

(Logan, Anthony and David) All super cute boys that Sydney "LIKE".

Cute Sophia.
Of course Sydney's bestest friend, Ms. Emma bug!

Mrs. Adams.

Mrs. Walker. Sydney has had Mrs. Walker for the past two years. Sydney is going to miss her terribly, but she won't be too far away.

Mrs. Magana. Also a teacher that Sydney has had for the past two years.

Emma, Sydney and Jenna hanging out with Mr. Kirchner, 5/6 grade teacher and Jenna's dad.

Mr. Hepner, the school's Facilities Director, and probably the nicest person you will ever meet.

Ms. Powers is one of the girls favorite middle school teacher who loves to give hugs.

Bye Mr. Lewis (4th grade teacher). He is leaving the school this year.

Mrs. Carr. The girls LOVE her. She is so kind and energetic. Every Wednesday the girl have dance after school and Mrs. Carr MUST see them in their dance outfits. I love how much she loves these girls.

Me and Ms. Tina. My partner and crime in most of the fun activities we do at the school either in the classroom or with Parent Club. Thank you Ms. Tina for all of your help and enthusiasm. We did good together and it is always fun working with you.

Mrs. Stewart, the Director of the school. Over the past two years, Sydney has stressed to Anson and I that, "You do NOT want to get in trouble or put on red because Mrs. Stewart will yell at you so loud it will crack her office walls." Yikes!

After school getting out at 12:30 p.m., Sydney hosted a "School Out Summer Bash!" Allison, Emma, Kaitlyn, Sydney S., Daniella and Jenna came for a big splash of fun.

It was so fun to watch the kids play, swim and giggle together. I felt completely happy. Nothing could wipe the smile off of my face! No more parent club, no more waking up to an alarm clock, no more dance, no more doing anything we didn't want to do. It is officially summer and all we are going to do is play, play, play, play and play some more. Oh did I mention we are just going to play?

Great to hear about, and see, the end of year activities you organized. You did a great job that obviously is greatly appreciated.

Hope you've been able to take a few weeks to relax.
