Sydney's 8th birthday this year was extremely special for her. She has been looking forward to being 'bathtized' just like the rest of her primary class and the last one to do so due to have a December birthday. We struggled back and forth where she should be baptized. Sydney wanted to be surround by all of her friends where we live but also wanted to have all of her family attend. It was a decision that we let her make while helping her a bit by pointing out a few things and she finally chose American Fork, Utah.
Tuesday, December 28th was going to be her special day. And since it was just right after Christmas, A LOT of the family were able to attend. And that's what she wanted.....to have her family with her that day.
Grandma Kay was sweet enough to take Sydney (I tagged along) dress shopping. She absolutely loved it! She told me she felt like a princess trying on all the different pretty dresses. After trying on around 6 different dresses, this is the one she chose.
This day was extra special for me since she was getting baptized where I was baptized. She loved that idea!
As we were waiting for our guests to arrive I snuck this picture of Sydney and her dad sneaking off to talk about what was going to happen. Sydney had the BIGGEST smile, the SHINIEST sparkles in her eyes and a sweet little skip in her walk all that morning. She had talked about this day for the past few years and it was finally here.
Sydney's day became even more special by sharing her day with her cousin Nora Naomi Shaw. Nora got to where white with Sydney for her blessing following Sydney's baptism. Sweet pictures and memories those two sweet girls get to share together forever.
Sydney was baptized by her dad, Anson Verlin Hatch.

Sydney was confirmed a member by her uncles David Shaw, Andrew Hatch, Alex Hatch, Ammon Hatch and Papa Shaw aka Frank William Shaw.

Sydney we are very proud of the decision you made to be baptized. We are very lucky to have such a sweet, loving, caring and special little girl in our family. I love the way you are so thoughtful of everyone's feelings and always always always happy. You live your life as if your cup is always overfilling with joy and happiness. You are a great example to me and those around you. We love you more than you could ever imagine! xoxoxo

It was fun to get a recap of the day. We were very happy to be there and grateful to participate as well. Carter and Parker were very excited to Sydney get baptized, what a great example she is to them.
