It's Time To Party With The Girls!

For the longest time, Sydney tells people she want to be a baker when she grows up.  That's all she wants to do.  I think she would be a great little baker.  She was quite surprised about a month ago when she asked if we could make brownies, I told her, "you go do it!"  "Me, by myself?" she said.  I said, "Yep, you can do it!"  She was super thrilled and did a great job.  You could tell she felt extremely grown up doing what mom does without mom's help.  My mom always let me cook in the kitchen and I have fun memories doing so and I know Sydney is too.

So with all that said and done, about 6 months before Sydney's birthday and asked her if she would like to have a bakers birthday party.  She gave me a big fat YES!.  It was fun to prepare and plan for.  I was lucky enough to buy chef hats and apron for each girl invited as a take home gift for $1.39 total!  What deal and a great way to kick off the baking party plans!
Anson and I set everything up the night before her birthday, so when she woke up she saw the house all decorated and ready for her party after school.
Snicker doodles bagged and ready to go home with the cute little bakers.
Frosting and cake decorating station ready to go!
Pizza station ready to rock and roll!

Hannah, Jenna, Marlee, Rachel, Natalie, Jessica, Emma, Allison, Sydney, Dani, Angelina, Julia, Anna, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Allyson, Cassidy and Jena.

And all of our cute bakers ready to bake and celebrate Sydney!  18 girls....YES, 18!  What were we thinking?  They were all very well behaved, but it was a lot of work to keep all 18 bakers focused on task.
We started by dividing into 4 groups to make our pizzas for dinner.  They had so much fun doing hands on cooking and baking.
Next, we started making our snicker doodles.  Every dinner needs a yummy dessert.  They learned to follow a recipe and did a great job doing so.
 Smiling bakers!
Snicker doodle dough rolled and ready to go!
Next each baker worked on their own mini cake master piece.  Doesn't that look yummy!

Everyone with a candle ready to sing Happy Birthday!

All of that cooking and baking was said and done in an hour and a half.  It was for sure a whirlwind of fun for our special little birthday baker!
Sydney bug, I love you girl!
