Sydney is getting older, wiser and figuring more and more things out everyday. But once in awhile, not as often as it used to be, I find myself in a cute innocent little conversation with her full of misused words or understandings that have been bouncing around in her head and I don't want to correct her. Just the way I didn't want to every tell her that 'freeschool' is really 'preschool. Or 'bathtized' is 'baptized'. I just love the sweet innocence and misunderstandings in their minds. It keeps them young and so cute!
Last night while we were working on a puzzle Sydney asked, "Mom, why are you doing a wedding shower for Ms. Grabert (her teacher)? I thought there were only baby showers."
Me: "There are baby showers and weddings showers. You can have both."
Sydney: No response, but I can tell she is thinking.
Me: Waiting.....
Sydney with a concerned look: "You are going to watch Ms. Grabert take a shower?!?!"
Me: "Wait, what!?"
Me: "Sydney, what do you think mommy does at all the baby showers I go to?"
Sydney with a timid voice and sweet look on her face: "Watch a baby get a shower....? And get clean."
Me: "Oh Sydney, when i go to a shower it means to 'shower' someone with gifts. Give the person lots of presents."
Sydney: "Ohhhh....I get it! I thought you were going to watch Ms. Grabert took a shower. That would be weird."
I'm still giggling thinking about our conversation. Even though we LOVE Sydney's teacher, I don't really want to see her shower either. What a sweet, sweet girl! Like I wrote earlier, cute misunderstandings of words are coming far and few and I'm going to miss them.

Oh, this is so cute & funny!! I totally agree, I love when my kids mispronounce words or say funny things like that... the mind of a child is so sweet!
