No..No...No...Camden!

I was at the mall tonight doing some last minute shopping for our "surprise" when I received a panicked phone call from Anson. He told me that Camden had gotten a hold of the liquid Tylenol and drank it. I couldn't explain to Anson over the phone how much I thought was in the bottle so I dropped everything and drove home quickly. When I got home, Anson was on the phone with poison control and an ambulance was on the way. It is standard for poison control to send for an ambulance, so shortly after I got home they showed up. We figured that Camden probably drank twice the recommended amount since I remembered that there was only 1/4 of the bottle left. After talking for about 10 minutes the medics said he would be probably fine.

After we all settled down, I told Camden "no, no, no!" He told me, "Mommy, I sick. Need medicine." We talked for a few more minutes and I think (hope) Camden realized he made a bad choice. With a big frown on his face he said, "sorry mommy, i not sick."

He scared me to death. Never underestimate the willpower of a toddler. They can do anything...even open medicine bottles.

Yikes! My kids are huge fans of medicine and are almost excited when they are actually sick and get to have it. I understand the love, when I was little I once ate a whole bottle of children's Motrin. My mom walked in just as I popped the last pill. She called poison control and I had to take syrup of ipecac to throw it all up. I'm glad Camden is ok.
