Camden and Sydney had a pretty rough start the beginning of December. A lot of fighting and not very much sharing. Santa Claus heard about this and sent an elf named Elroy to help them make good choices. When the package arrived, Sydney said, "Santa sends elves to families that are fighting to help you stop." After opening the box and reading about the special elf that has Christmas magic she disappeared for a little while and brought me the letter above. I guess the elf made her feel guilty and worried. Camden on the other hand got extremely upset and worried about Christmas magic the elf has and ran into his room crying, "I don't want the elf to be alive." We had to explain to both kids that Elroy is an elf that can visit any time and that he left us his elf doll as a reminder to be good. The doll DOES NOT come to life. Every morning the kids find Elroy's elf doll in a different place letting them know the Elroy has been checking on them.
It's working...they are making better choices, but probably out of fear. Not exactly what I was going for, but they are having fun finding the elf doll and notes Elroy has delivered from Santa.

Too funny!!!!
I have been searching high and low for that book and elf for our classroom. It's sold out everywhere. We thought it would be fun to use at school.
