Last Day of School!

Sydney made it through her first year of school. It is crazy to think that time flew by that fast and all she has learned this year. She learned to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives etc. She has also learned to identify imperative, declarative, interrogatory or exclamatory sentences. (I had to have Anson help me out when she brought home her finished work sheet. I don't remember learning that stuff. YIKES!) Her reading and spelling vocabulary amazes me. For example, she knows how to spell restaurant (i just had to used spell check) and sorcerer and knows the definition. She wrote an expository report on a the Mononykus dinosaur. What's an expository? I had to ask her. She has very tidy and neat penmanship. Telling time, counting and adding money in the blink of an eye, word problems, measurement, fractions and time testing. The girl knows and said in her own words, "That a denominator is the total number of pieces and a numerator is how many pieces out of all of the pieces." She told me the other day that the words "dear" and "deer" are homonyms. I can honestly say I feel a little dumb around my 6 year old. I am completely amazed by her first year of school and very proud of Sydney. Way to go my sweet girl!

Last day of school picture with her buddy, Connor.

Look at how much they have changed since the first day of school back on August 4, 2008.

Sounds to me like Sydney is taking after her mother and her father. Congratulations to the entire Hatch family on a successful school year.

Wow! I cannot believe the things that girl knows! Way to go! I hope my boys enjoy learning as much as Sydney. Mason only went to school three hours a day, I don't think he learned things even close to what they taught sydney, WOW! Smart adorable kids!

Sydney had an amazing kindergarten year (are you sure she wasn't going off to middle school behind your back and learning all that???) and I cant believe Connor has only one more year then off to high school -YIKES!!!!! Thanks for always being the Pettipiece photographer :) Love ya!
