Papa To The Rescue!

Grandma Kay and I did some redecorating to Camden's room last year in the robot/solor system/space theme. It was decided that we needed something for an empty wall. We had Camden put together his favorite puzzle for us which happened to be a solar system puzzle. Before he even knew it, we glued the pieces together and attached it to the wall as an art piece. Didn't even think to ask or tell the poor boy what we were doing. He made it very known that he didn't like his puzzle on the wall. There were even a few tears and many comments over the past year. A few months before Christmas last year, Camden asked Santa for another space puzzle and very clearly told us, "I'm mad that my space puzzle is on the wall!" "I want a new one and I don't want it glued and put on the wall!"
Christmas came and Santa brought a space puzzle, but not the same one. I'm pretty sure Santa thought the new one was even cooler than the one on the wall THINKING that Camden would love it! Nope, Camden still let me know that he wanted a puzzle like the one on the wall. The other day Camden received a package from his Papa Shaw. What a surprise...a knock at the door and there was a package. When we opened it we found Camden's most FAVORITE solar system puzzle. Look at that smile! Finally he has the very puzzle he has wanted over a year. Papa to the rescue!
As I replay last year regarding the puzzle, I have learned the following:
1. I never asked or prepared Camden that I was going to make his FAVORITE puzzle unusable.
2. Hanging his favorite puzzle to the wall was like teasing him everyday and he could not play with it anymore.
2. I should have replaced the puzzle after the 5th time of him complaining and I didn't replace the puzzle.....
3. Having Santa replace the LOVED puzzle with a different puzzle is NOT the same. DUH!
4. The poor kid still wants his favorite puzzle off the wall and I don't think much of it and don't replace the puzzle.....
5. Papa is the coolest Papa ever! He listens to Camden and gets the puzzle and make a little boy the happiest little boy ever!
If someone nailed my favorite jeans to the wall without asking, I too would be pretty upset and would hate walking by them everyday not able to wear them.
So I'm sure that the $14.95 puzzle will become an $75.00 therapy session some point in his life! Sorry Camden. This is my promise to pay the $75.00 for the puzzle thearpy session in the future! Love you...!

WOW...so much to learn from one little act. I think if I ever did that to Jace and one of his puzzles, it would have the same effect. Thank you for the for-warning!
