St. Patrick's Eve!

My little girl has been so EXCITED for St. Patrick's this year. She started making her plan to catch herself a little leprechaun about a month ago. She decided she would make her own box out of popsicle sticks and then covered the sticks with different leprechaun art. Art that would make the little leprechaun come towards her box so she could CATCH HIM! So with her daddy's help, she rigged up a little pulley system that would trap our little visitor while eating a few chocolate chips.
That whole box is made of popsicle sticks she glued together. It was a good 4 hour project.
She was asked by our neighbor why she wanted to catch a leprechaun and she said, "So I can be SOOO rich!" "So rich that even if my mom says I can't buy something I can anyway!" I told Sydney, "I don't think anyone has ever caught a leprechaun before." She sat there for a short second and replied, "Well if I do, I bet I will get to be on the news!!" My Sydney is extremely excited about tonight just as much as Christmas Eve. I hope her little trap works....I would love to buy anything I wanted also if she would share!

Since Sydney had a little trap going on, Camden needed one also. It was decided that a bowl of chocolate chips with noise maker resting on top inside of Camden's ajar dresser drawer would catch a little leprechaun. The plan is that if Camden hears the rattle of the noise maker he is suppose to jump up as fast as he can and shut the drawer to catch the little green guy. After thinking about the process Camden asked, "Daddy, what happens if he tries to get out and gets squished in the drawer and blood goes everywhere?" Anson told him, "The leprechaun would be too busy eating his treat and won't get hurt."
So there you have it....Sydney brought on quite an evening for the Hatch family. She created a much bigger St. Patrick's holiday than I ever imagined and I love it!
