Daddy's Birthday!

Since I have known Anson, he has asked for a homemade cake with homemade icing for his birthday. I decided to make the special homemade cake for the first time this year. All I can say is cake from a box is a lot easier. I'm not complaining, just saying there were a lot more ingredients, steps and mess. I even had to do some fancy cooking skills, i.e., whip egg whites to stiff peaks and fold. You don't have to do that for a cake in a box.

As you can see the cakes turned out great! I did worry a little bit that the cakes wouldn't puff up, but they did.

Here is the finished product with homemade frosting.

Camden and Sydney hiding their presents behind their backs waiting for daddy to come home from work. They were soooo excited.

Daddy was amused with his presents from the kids. I gave them each $2.00 to buy Anson anything they wanted from the Dollar Store. Sydney picked out a ball pump, which we really needed and a package of lighters, which we also needed. Camden pick out a package of pens and a duster. I'm pretty sure the duster is more for Camden then Anson though. Camden has this weird obsession of doll hair, string and ribbons. The duster is much like doll hair. It moves all sorts of ways and is soft. What a little goof?

Anyway, Anson had a great birthday. To top off the event I bought him some much needed jeans and took him out to dinner for a big, thick and pink tasty steak at Texas Roadhouse.

Until next year....oh yea, we are celebrating anymore birthdays since neither of want to get any older.....
